Documentary Photography

About

I am a London based documentary photographer and educator with more than 10 years experience within the world of photojournalism and documentary photography. I specialize in new forms of communication within visual media.

My own practice revolves around visual storytelling in documentary. The work itself has a strong humanistic focus, as I’m interested in human society and the impact we have on our environment and each other. I come from a photojournalistic background, however since finishing my MA in Documentary Photography at London College of Communication, my photography is now more observant. Instead of taking pictures in the situation, I take pictures of the situation.

I’ve found myself working in most areas of the world. My latest long-term project revolves around the Syrian civil war where I have been travelling extensively since 2011. This work has been published in several magazines and newspapers, exhibited at a range of galleries and finally as a self published book funded by the Danish Cultural Institute for presentation at CPH:LITT, the literature festival of Copenhagen.
